Whats Happening At Our Place February 2010

Well since talking to you last time, our niece has got married.  I (Rose) went over to Perth for the wedding.  Vic stayed at home to mind the place.

The wedding was great and the weather really good.  It gave me another time to catch up with my sister.

Just two days after I got back we had some sad news.  One of our friends passed away, so we travelled down to Shoalhaven Heads for the funeral.  That is about 8 hours away when you are driving.  It took us a little longer as we hit torrential rain practically all the way down.  Visibility was zero.  However, you couldn't pull off the road as you couldn't see it!

Gee there are some stupid drivers.  One overtook us during a torrential downpour where all the cars were travelling pretty slowly.  He went over a solid line and he was just a "P" plater.  That all means that if there is a solid line on the road, you can't cross over it to overtake and he was just a beginner driver.  I don't think he will make it to old age at that rate but also, he could cause someone else to have an accident as well

On the way back it seemed to be following us.  We went to pick up Tarsha (the cat) and had to ford a couple of causeways.  Then after deciding to go back to the highway as going the back way involved some very deep causeways, we found that it was flooded.  A pilot vehicle had to take up through a flooded part, as there was no way of knowing how deep it was and it was about 300 metres wide.

The grass is now getting out of control!  Vic is trying to mow it but it grows faster than he can do it.  Still, we are grateful for the the rain, though I must say, I prefer sitting inside a house rather than trying to drive through it with some idiot drivers on the road.
