Whats Happening at our Place
Well, we have been very remiss with the Newsletter.
May and June has gone in a blur. However, we have been very busy doing the viral spiral and also setting up the new Membership Site.
We have offered a sizeable discount for our current subscribers. This will only apply until the 7th July. We sent you an email. You will need to act on this very quickly. Another email will be sent before it expires.
We have got quite a bit of rain lately and everything is starting to go green. Unfortunately after 7 years of drought, the pastures are replenishing firstly with weeds. Mother Nature hates to have bare ground and she will cover it as soon as she can. Most people like to plow up, however, the weeds are there to stop erosion.
The garden has perked itself up but again a host of weeds. The daffodils and other bulbs are starting to come up. Since the drought, our garden designs have had a huge revamp. It works like this. If it is planted and survives, it can stay!
Our dear outside cat Dennis died last month. He was okay until the Friday morning and he wasn't interested in his morning milk. That was the first clue. Vic said he seemed more vague than normal and that night, he wasn't there for his tea. We looked everywhere and finally found that he was in the big bedroom on a pile of clothes. As he couldn't move, he must have done a super cat effort to jump up into the room. Remember, we have taken some of the floorboards out and now have a big hole. Kept him in his basket in our bedroom that night and he appeared better the next day and drank lots of water and a beaten egg. Couldn't face meat. That night, we couldn't keep him in his basket. He followed us to the loo and went to sleep in the doorway (not a good idea when you get up half asleep) Moved him up past the bathroom, which is further up the hall. He moved back to the brown rug near his friend Bubblegum. He was well out of the way of us walking on him, but I spent half an hour trying to find him, as he just blended in so well with the rug. Eventually, he came back to the bedroom in the morning but had trouble moving by this time. Animals never seem to realise they are sick, if they feel okay, they keep going. Anyway, I cuddled him on Sunday morning until, he wanted to get down on the floor. I was holding his paw as he died. Tarsha who was always fighting with him was really upset. That night, she went out at about 6 p.m. and instead of coming back as she always does, she stayed out until 7 a.m. She has never done that. It was cold that night too. I don't know if she was looking for him or what. It took at least a week before she settled down and even now, goes and inspects places he used to like to sit.
We are going a bit slow on the house front as we are helping our daughter with her house. As she is expecting carpet, we have been helping with getting skirting boards and architraves installed before it comes.
Our apologies for the silence.
Kind regards,
Vic & Rose
